Dayhiking Beehive Mountain 4580′
One of the quick hikes with access year around is Beehive Mountain just South of Wenatchee, Washington which had a lookout on it’s summit once upon a time. There are a couple man-made lakes /reservoirs as you hike up. The standard route begins in a pullout off the road to Mission Ridge Ski Resort and Recreation area at an elevation of around 3300′ where you follow a gravel road which snakes up a slope to a long North ridge coming off Mission Peak and eventually to a long abandoned forest road which has become a path at this point. Spectacular and expansive views can be had from it’s summit making it a good destination not only for scenery, but to get a grasp of snow conditions in the area and to the higher mountains to the North and West. The trip makes for an excellent snowshoeing experience during the winter.
